Dr. Richard Weil

Dr. Richard Weil, a board certified pediatrician, attended The American University in Washington, D.C. where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and then attended Georgetown University for a master’s degree in Physiology. Dr. Weil also earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. He then completed his pediatric residency at the Emory Affiliated Hospitals and served as chief resident at Grady Hospital. He joined Piedmont Pediatrics in May, 1989. Dr. Weil currently serves as Chief of Pediatrics at Piedmont Hospital and is also on the Board of Directors for Kids Health First Pediatric Alliance. He is also on the Board of the 1998 Society of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In April, 2008, he was appointed to the Composite State Medical Board by Governor Sonny Perdue. Dr. Weil is married with two daughters.

Dr. Allison Koenig

Dr. Allison Koenig, a board certified pediatrician, attended Harvard University where she received a degree in Biology. She earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and stayed in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins for her pediatric residency. Dr. Koenig completed residency in 2001 and joined Piedmont Pediatrics in September, 2002.

Dr. Elizabeth Griffith

Dr. Elizabeth (or Beth) Griffith is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She received her medical degree as well as her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University in Chicago where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Griffith joined Piedmont Pediatrics in July, 2004. Dr. Griffith is married with two young children.

Dr. Laura Harris

Dr. Laura Harris, a board certified pediatrician, grew up in Atlanta where she attended The Westminster Schools. She earned a degree in psychology from Princeton University, and then attended Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Harris joined Piedmont Pediatrics in July, 2005. Her husband, Jack Harris, runs a nonprofit education organization called Junior Achievement of Georgia. They have three young children.

Dr. David Roe

Dr. David Roe, a board certified pediatrician, is an Atlanta native and attended Furman University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music. He then went on to the Medical College of Georgia to complete his medical degree and then received his pediatric training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. After residency he served for three years in the United States Air Force as a general pediatrician at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. Dr. Roe joined Piedmont Pediatrics in July 2006 and currently serves on the Quality Utilization and Management Committee of the Kids Health First Pediatric Alliance. He lives nearby with his wife and three young children.

Dr. Steven Elliott

Dr. Steven Elliott, a board certified pediatrician, attended Ohio University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and then received his pediatric training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. After residency he continued at Cincinnati Children's Hospital as a staff physician in the Emergency Room and then in private practice in the Cincinnati area. Dr. Elliott joined Piedmont Pediatrics in May 2008 and lives with his wife and two young children.

We'd like to acknowledge our founding fathers, Drs. Shuler and Norwood, for their many years of excellent service to our community and for establishing Piedmont Pediatrics as one of the premiere pediatric practices in Atlanta.
