We hope everyone is enjoying Back to School Season! This also means that it’s time for our Flu Vaccine Clinics! The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends all children aged 6months and older be vaccinated against the flu.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends flu SHOT for children in the 2018-2019 season because it has been more effective than Flumist against the flu strains we have seen in the past few years. The data is not known about whether the Flumist will be effective this year, but we know that the FluSHOT has been consistently better than Flumist in recent years.
Flu Season is around the corner! Make an appointment for your child today.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Piedmont Pediatrics and Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance
It has come to our attention that many of our patients who have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance (BCBSGa) have received a letter informing them of the future possibility of Piedmont Healthcare providers no longer being part of the BCBSGA network. We want our patients to know that Piedmont Pediatrics is NOT part of Piedmont Healthcare, but instead, we are a separate private entity.
Therefore we are NOT affected by this issue. No worries! If you have any questions or concerns, please call our business office. 404-351-6662. Thank you!
UPDATE ON FLU SHOTS: We are now OUT of the 2017-18 flu shots and we will not be receiving any further supply. Therefore, we will not have any further flu shot clinics this season. Thank you!
Unfortunately, Piedmont Pediatrics does not and will not be taking Ambetter nor Kaiser exchange insurance. We do however have a self-pay rate scale for those of you who wish to continue seeing our providers.
Please call the billing office or office manager to discuss the specifics if you are interested. Thank you.
ALLERGY TESTING: We are now offering allergy testing for respiratory allergens, including grasses, trees, dust, weeds, molds, and pets. Please talk to your doctor if you would like to make an appointment for skin testing with our qualified allergy nurse practitioner, Abby Ivie.
We plan to initiate immunotherapy (allergy shots) in Spring 2017 for those patients that would benefit from this treatment option.
