Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located directly behind Piedmont Hospital. Parking is available in the North and South parking decks. The “B” level of the North parking deck also provides a covered walkway into our building. We are on the 4th floor in Suite 4060. Valet Parking is also available.

Do you have Walk-In Hours?

Our policy is that we see patients during office hours by appointment only Monday – Friday. Walk-in Patients will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but we strongly discourage this practice. Emergencies are seen immediately, and sick children are worked in on the same day. As a result, regular appointments may be delayed. Remember, if we are running behind, it is because we are giving another child the attention you would want your child to receive. If the waiting time seems unduly long, please check with the receptionist.

What if I need to speak with my child’s doctor after hours or on the weekends?

If you have questions after hours, you may call 404-351-6662. When calling after hours, an operator will answer your call and obtain any necessary information. For routine after hours call, you should receive a call back within one hour from a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta nurse. She will triage your call and answer your questions or forward your call to a physician who is on-call from our group. Please make sure you have your pharmacy’s name and phone number available.

After hours calls should deal only with illness or injury requiring immediate attention. Other calls involving routine issues, and prescription refills should be dealt with during normal business hours only.

For patients whose problem is serious enough to be seen outside of routine hours, we encourage you to use Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, Egleston, or Hugh Spalding. If your child has a critical or life-threatening illness, call 911 or go to the nearest ER.

What are your office hours?

The office is open Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5 PM and Saturday from 9 AM – Noon.

Due to the limited number of physicians in the office, Saturday office hours are for urgent care illnesses only. You do not need an appointment to be seen by a pediatrician on Saturday?

What are the shot clinic hours?

Our “shot only” times are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30 – 4 PM. These nurse visits are only for patients who require vaccines at times other than their regularly scheduled check-ups. Information about our annual influenza vaccine clinics is available on our website each fall.

Is my child too old to see a pediatrician?

We see children from birth through 22 years of age. Some teens may prefer to be seen by an internist, but most prefer to stay with the pediatrician through college. Adolescents have their own special needs, and our pediatricians are equipped to deal with them.

What is the recommended age for a Flu Shot?

Seasonal Influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
